ALLEN ROMANO is a specialist in ancient Greek literature and culture with broad interests in digital humanities and pedagogy. He runs the new graduate program in Digital Humanities at FSU. He regularly teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in humanities broadly conceived (e.g. HUM 2020 “The Art of Being Human”), digital cultures and technology (the e-series course “Technologies of Memory from Antiquity to Today”), and digital humanities. Dr. Romano holds a Ph.D. from Stanford in Classics and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Classics and in Comparative Literature. Before coming to FSU he was a postdoc and lecturer at the University of Chicago. He won an FSU Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2010 and an award for Online Teaching and Course Design in 2016.
