Demos Project receives seed funding from FSU’s Office of Research

In order to kickstart work in the Data Humanities, the Florida State University Office of Research has very generously awarded the Demos Project $35,000 for three essential pilot projects: (1) forming an inaugural cohort of faculty fellows; (2) creating and holding a summer institute; and (3) hosting a global webinar series for the 2019 calendar year. This seed funding will facilitate community building and training in digital humanities across FSU’s campus. The funds will also provide some much-needed technological updates to our collaborative space in Diffenbaugh.

As the Demos Project grows, we look forward to expanding our support of researchers in the data humanities. We assist faculty in developing critical vocabulary for starting projects, surveying skills and toolkits for building research projects, seeking funding, and using data-driven research methods for teaching. We look forward to continuing these endeavors with this new support from the Office of Research.
